The date of her birth is March 29th, 1985 in Roswell, New Mexico. Gerina Michel Mendoza is her birth name. Gerina Stevenson, the Mexican child of Rita Stevenson Stevenson and Alan Stevenson Stevenson, is born in Mexico. Stevenson is of Mexican heritage, but is American in nationality. At a very young age, her desire to be active in sports was strong. Gerina first started golfing at 15 years of age. Gerina has graduated from Goddard High School. As a high-school student, she had won the New Mexico Golf State Tournament. She was also an athlete in volleyball who played on the level of state. In 2003, she started studying at the University of Texas. She won all of the tournaments she played in during her senior year. During her undergrad professional career, she took home an award for Conference USA Individual Champion Player of the Year Award and UTEP Female athlete of the Year.
