April Lockhart

April Lockhart is a born July 4th April, 1995. As a seventh-grade student she began taking guitar lessons and piano lessons. It was this that ignited her love for music writing. When April was 12 when she wrote her first single Different. When she was 14 years old, April was spending a lot of time writing lyrics and perfecting her musical skills. Soon after, April started to go on trips with her dad as well as write her songs either in NY or LA. April also added additional themes to the tune "Take My Hand" for some of acquaintances who faced concerns like peer pressure issues, or even teens who committed suicide. Lockhart, a popular lifestyle blogger and having partnerships with clean-cut beauty brands Ilia she has gained a large audience. She was born with no left hand. This creates her unique. However, this isn't the only characteristic of her. Lockhart's Instagram account doesn't ignore her disability. However, it doesn't insist on her disability. The profile is a statement. The message is That we all carry multiple identities and are more complex than we think we're. Lockhart stated in a video interview that she doesn't wish to be defined solely by her handicap. She doesn't wish to become a disability advocate who only speaks about it. There are a variety of aspects to Lockhart. This doesn't interfere with my daily life. All is well and I've learned how to make adjustments. Since it's a an integral part of me, it's something that's worth talking about. Lockhart is a huge source of inspiration for her female friends regarding acceptance of oneself. Yet, she confesses that she has had periods that made her feel uncomfortable about her appearance as well as wearing clothes that showed her arms. She now wears any outfit she wishes and shares pictures on her Facebook page with pride. Self-love she said is a kind of journey. "I do not think that you'll ever get there," she said.
