Kristen Noel Kristy Swanson is an American actress who gained fame as the character Buffy Summers in the cult Buffy the Vampireslayer film. She also played Becky Granger in the telefilm Nightingales as well as the brief-lived NBC show with the identical nameErica Paget in the CBS drama Early Editionand Marlowe Viccellio in Psych. Being a native of California Swanson had a passion for acting from the time she was a child. She started her career as an actor in commercials. Her first appearance on screen in 1984 in an NBCs It's Your Move episode. Following that, in 1986's romantic comedy Pretty in Pink, Swan made her debut on the bigscreen. Famous for her blonde hair and the breathless voiceSwan has been relegated to playing side characters in recent time. Flowers in the Attic earned her the Young Artist Award in the Horror or Mystery Motion Picture category in 1989.
